Annie Wedekind Introduces A Horse of Her OwnNov 20, 2011
Annie Wedekind is the author of A Horse of Her Own: Jane Ryan has always dreamed of owning a horse—but so long as she gets to ride her favorite, Beau, at Sunny Acres farm, she's content. And this is the summer she means to try out for the advanced riding class. But just as summer begins, Jane receives heartbreaking news about Beau. Now, she loses not just her favorite horse, but also her chance to ride in the end-of-summer competition. When her trainer asks her help with an out-of-control chestnut warmblood, Lancelot, a newcomer to the barn, she has no choice but to say yes. Only Jane's faith in Lancelot, and her own rediscovered skill and strength, can see her through the hard journey toward a horse of her own. ANNIE WEDEKIND grew up riding horses in Louisville, Kentucky, at a farm very much like Sunny Acres. Since then, she's been in the saddle in every place she's lived, from Providence to New Orleans, South Africa to Brooklyn. This is her first book. Here's Annie, her baby, and her cat, introducing A Horse of Her Own. A Horse of Her Own is published by Feiwel and Friends, an imprint of Macmillan. Visit us on the Web at www.feiwelandfriends.com. North Smithfield Rhode Island (RI) Real Estate TourAug 25, 2010
www.northsmithfieldri.virtualhomes.com -- Tour North Smithfield, RI neighborhoods, condominium developments, subdivisions, schools, landmarks, recreational areas, and town offices. North Smithfield, Rhode Island is located at the northern border of the state and has been called the gateway to northern Rhode Island. Conveniently situated along Route 146 between Providence and Worcester, North Smithfield is a great place to live, work and play. Incorporated in 1871, the town was first called Slater after English industrialist John Slater. The name was changed to North Smithfield just sixteen days later. Most early settlers were farmers, but the town's proximity to water fostered significant industrial growth, as mills were established along the waterfront. North Smithfield still contains several working farms, including Wright's Dairy Farm, the Goodwin Farm, Homestead Gardens, and Christiansen's Orchard. The "Olde Allen Farm" is home to Hi-On-a-Hill Herb Farm, the only certified organic vegetable farm in Northern Rhode Island. North Smithfield's farms sell locally grown products to a clientele drawn from the region. Additionally, Brookside Equestrian Center and Phoenix Rising Horse Farm help to make North Smithfield a first rate location for equestrian training. North Smithfield is ready as we enter the 21st century to accept the ever evolving demands of the new global marketplace. Municipal government, community leaders, business people, and residents are eager to expand ...

Katrina, Big Beautiful Spotted Draft Filly, Dressage, Vaulting, Driving, Hunter or Trail ProspectJul 25, 2011
Katrina is an extremely nice example of a registered Premium North American Spotted Draft filly. This beautifully marked black and white tobiano mare will be 3 in May 2011. Her sire is World Ch. Percheron Stallion Blue Ribbon Farms Prince. She is already 16 hands and 1400 lbs., will probably top out around 17+ hh. Her sire is 18hh. She has silky smooth gaits and transitions. This is a horse of substance and class yet has that #1 laid-back temperament of the draft horse. She has had a year of ground training and started in harness. She will make a fabulous dressage prospect, vaulting horse, driving horse, hunter or husband horse for trail. She is the sweetest, most people-friendly horse I've had. Here she is just unbrushed and muddy, playing with our border collies in the field, but you can see what a smooth, nice mover she is turning out to be! She towers over my two Missouri Foxtrotters in the paddox with her. Top notch bloodlines all the way back. She could possibly be sold if someone is seriously interested, email terri@aignergraphics.com
